7th Round of Shia-Catholic dialogue was held at the International Institute for Islamic Studies
The 7th round of Shia-Catholic dialogue was held in Qom and Mashhad from May 10th until May 15th with participation of Christian Benedictine scholars from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, France and Kenya. The same as the 5th round of these dialogues, this round was also hosted by the International Institute for Islamic Studies.
Hujjat al-Islam Dr. Shomali, H. I. Dr. Ansari Poor, H. I. Dr. Zamani, H. I. Fayyazi, and Drs. Legenhausen, Javadi and a group of researchers from the International Institute for Islamic Studies participated in discussions with Christian scholars attending this dialogue.
In between discussions and presentations, Christian guests of this dialogue visited places including the holy shrines of Lady Ma’suma (s) and Imam al-Reza (a), Mosque of Jamkaran, the Jurisprudential Institute of A’imma Athar (a), office of Ayatullah Shahristani, University of Religions and Denominations in Qom, International Book Fair in Tehran, Ferdowsi University in mashhad, Jami’at al-Mustafa al-‘Alamiyya and the tomb of Ferdowsi in Mashhad.
The topic for this round of dialogue was “Human Dignity in Islam and Christianity”.
The 7th round of Shia-Catholic dialogue was concluded in Mashhad on May 15th.
