About us
The International Institute for Islamic Studies (IIIS) was established in 2009 due to the vast expansion of current needs in Islamic studies, especially in Western communities. Its mission is to promote progress, development, and the advancement of religious communications in an international context by training competent seminary students to introduce genuine Islam in a scientific and methodical manner. The institute accepts qualified seminary students to pursue studies in the fields of Islamic Studies (MA and PhD) and Islamic Philosophy (MA).
All courses, academic activities, and research assessments at IIIS are conducted in English, ensuring that students are fully integrated into the global academic environment.
Goals of the Institute’s Educational Programs
Promotion and deepening of Islamic studies in general, and Shia Islamic studies in particular, while addressing the challenges of contemporary societies.
Teaching, research, and supervision of theses by the academic staff of the institute and other partner centers.
Training specialists and competent researchers to introduce Islam in general, and Shia Islam in particular, in religious and academic institutions both domestically and internationally, as well as in international seminars and interfaith dialogues.
Correcting misconceptions about Islam and providing scholarly responses to questions raised by orientalists regarding fundamental Islamic and Shia issues.
Scope of Activities
Training teachers, researchers, and scholars for the international academic and cultural arena.
Publishing peer-reviewed scientific journals in different languages.
Organizing academic conferences, symposia, and meetings.
Establishing collaborations with authoritative scientific, research, and cultural institutions around the world.
Dispatching teachers and researchers to collaborate with international academic and cultural centers.
