Interfaith Dialogue from the Catholic Viewpoint

At the beginning of this meeting, which was held on the topic of “Interfaith Dialogue from the Catholic Viewpoint”, the head of the IIIS introduced Dr. Felix J. Phiri and thanked him for accepting the invitation of the institute.

Dr. Felix J. Phiri accepted the invitation of the IIIS in order to present a workshop on the topic of interfaith dialogue from the catholic point of view. He visited the IIIS on April, 22th 2013.

Dr. Felix J. Phiri is 45 years old and was born in Zambia. He has chosen his career as a Christian priest and holds PhD in Islamic studies from the Eastern and African Studies Institute in England.

He is fluent in English, French, Italian, Swahili and two other local languages. He has been teaching at the Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies under the supervision of the Pope located in the Vatican, since 2006. During these years, he has taught topics including: Islamic Law, Shia, Life of the Holy Prophet of Islam (s), situation in the Middle East and the growth of Islam in Africa.
